Another Newbie Moving to Bahrain

Hello there and welcome to Bahrain. You will find plenty of helpful and honest people in this forum. Lately it has been way more active compared to previous months, which is a good sign.

Feel free to share all your questions you may have about the country. Also your husband is right, living in Bahrain makes much more sense. You'd be bored to death in KSA.

Driving to Khobar is not as bad as you think. From Seef or Saar, it takes 30-45 mins to cross the border - which is nothing compared to my commute when I was in London (Brighton to North London and back - 4 hours commuting in total every day).

Thanks for the welcome Brightonguy. Glad the drive to KSA won't be too bad. 4 hours a day - I don't know how you did it - I hate traffic. Hope you were on a train or bus so at least you could read.

It was Bus + Train + Tube + Walk and Walk + Tube + Train + Bus journey every day. You get to enjoy it after a while

I am so  glad that you all are so helpful.  I feel quite overwhelmed with it all, furniture? no furniture?  depends on what we live in, dishes or no dishes?  will i entertain a lot there for the office people in KSA or is that not allowed?  bring car or leave car? gluten free food available??, where to live??  As you can see all is quickly arriving on the horizon?  I am sure all of you had these questions when you were a newbie too.  I am looking over the forum.

Looking over the forum is a good start. Furnished is what we did and then we topped it up with pictures, ornaments, BBQ etc. Entertaining is allowed but your car won't be.
