Introduction and General Inquiry

Hello all!!!

I am endeavoring to relocate from CA to Ecuador; however, I don't have a clue how to do so. I am an educator with two graduate degrees in English and education. Moreover, I am licensed to teach English and social sciences in the State of California.

I sure would appreciate some assistance. I don't have contacts in Ecuador; hence, I am having difficulty in "navigating" the situation.

Finally, I am single, and I have no children. I do possess a functional speaking, reading and writing ability in Spanish. Any help or information regarding this matter would be very much appreciated!!

Thanks,
David

I moved to Quito two years ago. I also am a teacher with two graduate degrees (Masters and Doctorate). I can help you with some ideas to research as far as teaching in Quito. For a year and a half I taught at a private school here. They pay the most. You can check out some of the following schools: Academia Cotopaxi, Colegio Menor, Alberto Einstein, British School, or just google private schools in Quito. I now work at a university in Quito. Some universities to check out: University of San Francisco, Universidad de las Americas, Catolica University, etc- there are more.
Also, there are job fairs that come to the US where some teachers at the private schools get hired from- you can check out International Schools Services.
Hope this helps.

Thank you so much for the information that you have provided. I will certainly take a look at the schools listed.

By the way, do you like residing in Quito? I would imagine that most of the employment in education would be there as opposed to the less populated regions. I sure hope that I will be able to acquire a position in the near future.

Thanks again for your help and timely response to my inquiry.

Yes, I like Quito a lot. I lived in the city for a year and then I moved to the valley, which I like even more.
