Hi it's sounds dodgy as no employment pass if salary under 5,000 k - or they are employing you as a foreign worker - slave work. You won't be treated well as the latter. Factory workers are treated poorly and will be ten to a room living etc. So make sure you know what you are getting into!

Hi siva0531 ,

I have offered 2+ year contract job and 3600rm/m and another allowances I am going to have wp in Dec. The only thing is you have to pay 26% income tax in 182 days [ this will be returned to you when you get out the country]. Check with your HR to know if you get net or gross of 2.5k.

You have whole India team in Malaysia with you, keep going on and do not turn your head to any negative speaker!

Sometime, i dont know why there are some people who like posting things without thinking about how it could influence social circle.

The legal minimum expat salary is 5,000 RM per month (there are intern type programs for the young but pay pocket money only and relatively rare) so illegally employed/cheated (they tell immi you are paid 5k and steal the extra!) such companies often end up not paying last few months salary, cheat and lie, don't pay expenses as promised and often do unsafe and illegal activities. You want to work with such a company? A big red warning sign.

With my experience deal with expat,  to be honest that is too less, I was surprised when I look at this post ~ like nemo said at least 5k is a must.

New grads in KL getting 3,500 RM now (if half decent and hard working) and I can't recruit staff below 3k now - no one wants it and that is singles living at home who just need pocket money. A married man needs at least 6k.

It is called inflation

It's true, 2500 is really too little, you will be slaving, and renting a shi**y room cause you won't be able to afford a decent flat. Same happened to me, I was naive and accepted. They may not give you the working permit even, a lot of companies are like that.  If they offer you over 4,000 and you are bachelor that should be okay, not great, but just average... But be sure you are not paying any taxes from that amount :-)
