We are also planning to set up a self-help group of those who want to or are learning spanish.Would request students(Indian) and those who can help (native speakers of spanish ) to indicate their willingness to assemble once a week for 2 hours in a central place in say Dadar.
Best wishes,

Hi,
I am Spanish teacher and I would be very please if you could tell me if there is any vacancy in Mumbai?

Thank you in advance

arthand

Dear Piluca,
Welcome to expatblog.I hope we will make good friends or fellow bloggers.Below is what I think at this point of time.
The net tells me about Laviana  :
Mining, agriculture and stock-rearing have been the principal industries since the early 20th century.
Historical population of Laviana
Year     Population
1991     15204
1996     15105
2001     14531
2004     14373
2007     14312

The first thing about your city that strikes one is that there is a density of 110 people per sqaure Km.in your city/ province.

If you are looking to come to Mumbai, let it please be known that the in Mumbai 20,482 persons live per square kilometre.

This actually means that there are more opportunities also.
You may not be able to manage with a job as a spanish teacher only. You will need to do much more.Translations ,business etc. to be able to have the comforts.Rentals in Mumbai are very high.
I am not discouraging you.but you can join a school outside Mumbai as the income may be  sufficient to sustain yourself as the rentals and cost of living will be less as compared to Mumbai. There are many jobs amongst the BPO sector, the salary may be O.K. but in India, you need to be good at English to be able to teach Spanish

I suggest that you send a message to Fellow blogger Ravi Khatri from Pune and he may be able to help you the best.(We dont see much of his posts now adays)

I would also suggest one site.Indeed jobs.Given below is an alert from them.

Dear Piluca,
i think you should teach spanish in mumbai.I can help you get a job in an institute.
but you will eventually have to come with a tourist visa of 3 months. We can than convert it into a work visa.In india people like to interview a person face to face and do not believe in skype and video conferencing. So the best option is to land here and than hunt for a job.Mumbai is a highly populated city and people here have a good financial status.

regards,
Rahul

Hi everyone,
Further to my invitation for dahi-handi.I am sending you all some info about the event that is going to take place on 18th August 2014.
A 250-strong Spanish troupe is making its way towards Mumbai to add a dash of foreign flavour to the celebrations this year."250 members from Castellers de Vilafranca, a troupe based in Barcelona, Spain, will be visiting Mumbai in August. This troupe holds the world record for making the highest human pyramid.(Source-Times of India)
Along with them there will be hundreds of Indian groups performing the Dahi-handi celebrations or a sport called GOVINDA.
Govinda Sport or Dahi Handi is an Indian festival that involves a sport making a human pyramid and breaking an earthen pot filled with butter. It is mostly popular in the state of Maharashtra.
Govinda Sport has its origins in the "Dahi Handi" (dahi: Curd, handi: Earthen Pot) festival. The sport involves making a human pyramid and breaking an earthen pot filled with milk, curd, butter, fruits and water which is hung at a convenient height. It is organized on Krishna Janmashtami every year to celebrate the birth of the Krishna all over the state of Maharashtra.
The term Govinda is used to refer to the people who participate in forming this human pyramid. The participants form a pyramid consisting of as many as 9-tiers, and are given three attempts to break the earthen pot. Every year thousands of people gather at Mumbai and Thane's big 'Dahi Handi' events. The prize money for the events usually range between INR1 crore (US$170,000)INR2 crore (US$330,000) depending on the organizers and its sponsors.(Source ; Wikipaedia)
