Considering a move to Zakho, Iraq

I am born and raised in America. Considering a move to Northern Iraq to live with my husband who is already there and established. I have heard both positive and negative views which are very conflicting. Can anyone help shed more light?

Doesn't seem to me that these two guys havel helped you much with their repies, ha haaa
I'm sorry I don't have any advise to that respect either but am very interested in the outcome. I hold a British passport and speak arabic and am also interested into moving to Iraq, how is life there for Americans and Brits?

its completely safe in zakho, also ppl there are very nice with foreigners .
but its small city not like Erbil or Dahuk.
zakho is countryside or Dahuk I dont know even Dahuk is small city . after all its safe and ppl there are very friendly and helpful .
