Hey everyone,

So I'm trying to plan a weekend trip some time soon that has a lot of hiking trails and places you can go explore caves. Do any of you have any recommendations?

I'm a pretty avid hiker so theres no mountain too high.

However, for caving, I do not have ropes and I do not know how to belay someone, but if any of you know how to and want to tag along, let me know via message or cell phone 0 128 344 1418.

Thanks everyone

Start with Sam Mountain. Can be reached by bus.

Just West of Chau Doc.

The US used it as a major communications base for southern VietNam during the American War in VietNam. Most of the junk has rotted.

REMEMBER, the CONG AN regards overnight camping as a breach of the rules requiring you to be registered in appropriate accommodation.

Seemingly tents and sheets of plastic don't meet that description.

If you decide to hammock overnight (sleeping bags on the ground are definite no-no's) make sure you take a flashlight to bed with you!

On occasion when I overnight in the open, you will find the flashlight handy for avoiding jumping on all those pairs of beady eyes staring up at you. The eyes that are close together might be snakes.

Heard about this, the world's largest cave?

Never been there, but probably would try to go there some time.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Me and a couch surfer are thinking about going to either Dalat or Sam Mountain.

Any other ideas any of you can recommend?
