Is it all worth it ????

Hi All, Over the last 12 months I have been doing a lot of research on moving to Malta and recently ramped this research up. Since reading about ARM Ltd ripping everyone off with electricity and water and the rather damp short winter where the major source of heating is gas/oil/electric heaters and the extortionate taxes the transport ministry impose if you want to import your car and the fact if you do import it, it can take many months for the paper work to go through and you still have to pay the vehicle registration tax upon selling or scrapping the car. The countless hoops that certain companies and government bodies ask you to jump through that adds untold stress on an individual/couple. Just to name a few :) My question is. Is it worth upping sticks and relocating to Malta?? I really love the country and its people and I believe the advantages totally outweigh the disadvantage, but would you do it all again if you had a chance.. Many thanks :rolleyes:

We moved here in August and i can honestly say it is the best thing we have ever done! I have a great job (the second since arriving cos the first was on Gozo and the travel was just tooooo much!) Everyone has been really friendly, ex-pats and Maltese alike, we have a great social life, the weather is sooo much better than in the UK and we are spending less than 30% of what we were on utility bills in the UK.
I sit on the balcony every morning overlooking the sea and drinking my coffee... Would I go back to the UIK? NEVER!!

Very happy for you Grizabella. We will be there in a few weeks for 6 weeks on Gozo, then we move permanently in July, see you soon.
