Hi Everybody,

I know its a stupid question, but...

My dearest photo camera was stolen on the beach of Copacabana on the 2nd of January 2010, in the backpack right from my hands (i even did not take it out)

This is a quite rare rangefinder medium format film camera and I cant guess who can buy it in Rio. Maybe you could advise me which photo stores should I warn in case if someone would come to them with this camera? Any advice appreciated!

Thanks!

Warn? Anastasia, you will probably find your camera on sale at a nearby camera store...very soon. It's very common for kids from the favelas to steal anything of value from unsuspecting tourist so the local stores can re-market them...yes, to unsuspecting tourist. Rio is the worst I've seen in Brasil. People there will steal their own mother's internal organs if they can make a dollar today...despite their mother giving them two dollars a day allowance. It really a pitiful shame. You should do some google searches for things like that. You will be amazed at what you'll find in Rio...
