Is there a way to live long-term in Italy without going through the residenza elettiva route?  I am retired and am able to fulfill all the R.E requirements, but am wondering if there are other alternatives.

Thanks,
Joyce

The long-term visas for living in Italy, for a period longer than 90 days,, are specified by law. They may be issued only for: adoption, medical care, diplomatic reasons, self-employment, employment, mission, religious reasons, re-entry, “residenza elettiva”, family reunion, study, working holiday.

kind regards

Marco

Thanks, Marco--that settles that!  I'll continue with the process of residenza elettiva.
