Post new topic

Hi Everyone,

Is that allowed to go upto Baggage Carousel in International Arrivals on Riyadh Airport to help elderly guests in collecting their luggage?

TheLegendLeads

No, entering the area from outside is prohibited. However, laborers (coolies) there available to help.

Actually.

If you talk to the guy to The right of the exit area. In a small office, he can escort you if you convince him.  saw it happen

True.  Drivers from my company used to be inside waiting for me (never helped with the baggage, though lol).

Whenever it came time for a bag to be lifted (from carousel to trolly, trolly to x-ray, x-ray back to trolly, trolly to car trunk) this one particular guy used to turn his back and walk a few steps away to check his cell phone.  Amazing coincidence!!

runnertattoogirl

No way was that a coincidence.  It just can't be!  lol

I don't even know if they pay attention in customs.  When I came in, a Saudi woman accidentally grabbed my bags and she happened to find me.  When I walked around to the security office to get them... he really didn't push too hard to get me to take them through the xray.. not to mention when I put the carry ons I had through the machine, the guard wasn't even paying attention.

I know.  The x-ray guys look bored to tears.  I've never seen anybody stopped.

Freshlikesushi

Funny story.

Only time i had to open my bag was in Saudi.  made me unload all my photo gear

Nd scan it all separate

This was going on vacation

runnertattoogirl

Maybe you looked a little fishy.  Haha... see what I did right there?  Plus I haven't really seen gear like yours around so maybe that's why... or perhaps it was to solve being "bored to tears" as Allie put it so eloquently.

Border Security Australias Frontline is an awesome programme to watch, what would Saudis show if they are to launch a programme on Saudi customs security..

We watch that show pretty often as well.  I'm always amazed at what people try to sneak in their luggage.

Yeah, generally its really a good programme to gain knowledge of how to be a real crook

I am a very occasional visitor.

Yesterday I did make it to the baggage carousel very conveniently. There is a small office just very adjacent to arrival's exit. They just ask for Iqama and mobile number and then they let u go in happily :)
