Al Khaleej Training Job Offer

Post new topic

HelLO,
I had a phone interview with Al Khaleej, a training institute in Saudi Arabia.  They made me an offer to teach ESL for saudi university students. Also I got another offer from another company called the Saudi British Center and I need to make up my mind. Anyone has any experience with one of those companies or both?

Welcome to KSA
I have been living and working in Saudi Arabia for the Saudi commpany Alkhaleej Training & Education, I teach English to the Preparatory Year at one of the 6 or 8 campuses of the University Of Shaqra 200 KM South of Riyadh the Capital.
Prior I have taught at one of Direct English Centers in Riyadh.
My experience with this company has been great when I taught at their Direct English Centers, my salary payments were always on time, no deductions from salary,no questions asked when requesting exit visas, and all mangers were nice.
Since I have been transfered along with other teachers to teach at the university I have been facing many problems with Al khaleej. Upon my arrival to the campus I was asked to surrender my passport, I was subjected to many deductions from my salary; alkhaleej deducted money from my paycheck for not attending meetings, their meetings conducted in Arabic language when I tried to explain arabic is not my language, they deducted more for speaking up against their rules.
My advise to you is to stay away, refuse the offer if they ask you to teach at one of their Shaqra university campuses. These campuses are manged by one of the most hated managers of al khaleej training and education. He treats teachers like dogs, he does not respect anyone, he manages by pressure, He forced us to call him Dr. when he had no PHD degree, he forced us to attend his meetings and insisted on speaking in arabic knowing we are from Pakistan, India and many western countries.
I talked with my friends from other Shaqra university campuses they all suffered from this manager, most of them were afraid to speak up and face this manager for fear of losing their jobs especially teachers like myself, wife teaches at the same campus and he did not hasitate to split families by transfering husbands and wives away from each others. So life goes on with fear.
I hope you will find this information helpful.
