I heard that you cannot now renew this at the British Embassy/High Commission here in Malta...I also heard that the renewal applications have to be sent to Paris France now can anyone confirm this.

Hi Toon
I believe its been like this for some time now as the renewals have been outsourced to a private company ( not sure why it all goes via France) but its a pretty good / fast but expensive service. However I believe that you can book an appointment in the UK if you are going anyway and renew then and its cheaper!

the reason i ask is am sure i read the opposite in a leaflet in the HC quite recently (within the last 4 weeks) - i will now have to hunt them out again..maybe i have misread it or its an old leaflet.

Hi Toon,
Unless your planning to come over to the UK I agree with the above message as my mother in law's was due for renewal but they came over to stay with us in the uk to spend time with the kids so she got it done then but I emailed her the forms so she was ready when she got back and paid for the express service.
Hope this is a help
Regards
Marc
