From The Malta Independent today:
(I have already made contact and been made to feel very welcome when I visit.)

During these past years, many persons started falling in love with digital photography. Everyone knows the benefits and advantages these technologies have brought about. The same thing happened in Gozo, and as time passed by, the amount of Gozitan photographers or persons who own a D-SLR started increasing rapidly.

Nowadays, we're noticing that in Gozo there are several persons who own a D-SLR camera and managed to achieve fantastic photographic results and others who are still starting their learning curve. Therefore, it was decided to gather these persons and set up a new association with the principal aim to promote photography as an artistic medium, help those interested in learning about photography through several activities and courses, and also praise those who achieve the best results.

This association will carry the name of Gozo Photography Association (GPA), and will work hard to promote photography, not only on the island of Gozo, but also nationally and internationally.

Therefore, a General Meeting is being called on Friday 18th January 2013. This is being held at  Cana Centre, Triq Fortunato Mizzi, Victoria, Gozo and starts at 6.00pm.

During this General Meeting, a proposed statute will be discussed and approved. An election will follow for the Executive Committee.

Photographers who would like to serve on the Executive Committee have to apply and send their request to gozophotography@gmail.com by not later than Thursday, 17th January 2013. Further information about this association, one can find it on the facebook page:  www.facebook.com/GozoPhotographyAssociation
