English: When are you classified as "allochtoon"
All people that are living in the Netherlands who are not born in the Netherlands, or are born in the Netherlands, but of whom one or both parents were not born in the Netherlands. (They are called 1st or second generation allochtonen) This group excludes assylum seekers whom are not registered in the municipal region where they are living.

Now that you have the definition, the question raises: Does this phenomenon poses a problem whilst seeking for work, or in dealing with your daily activities?

Hi pwwit,

This really doesnt effect your job searching. They look at your resume rather than the color of your skin. I myself (as a black woman) have had many jobs.
It is true that 'allochtonen' sometimes mess it up for the rest of us, when looking for a job. But this is something that happens very rarely. Plus in the major cities (amsterdam, rotterdam and the hague), they will anybody with good qualifications.

Hope this helps! what kind of job are you looking for?
