things must be getting hard for Noahs Ark (am sure its always hard) as ive just had a caller asking for donations - never known them do that before......i do hope they get more contributions - always been a pet lover had both dogs and cats - only got a cat now though...- a very worthy cause...

Things are tight for them at the moment,we delivered 75kg of dried dog food down there on Tues (they use 50 - 70kgs a Day!).
Since they lost the use of the kiosk shop in Mellieha the revenue has dropped. At the moment friends of Noahs Ark in Germany are helping out by paying for repairs and improvments to the sanctuary but more dogs keep arriving.
If anyone would like to help either with a donation or to adopt a dog please contact the sanctuary, details are here ~ http://www.noahsarkmalta.org/

Terry - can you confirm that the cold calls asking for donations are actually from a representative of Noahs Ark, and not just someone trying it on as a con ?

TA - was it by telephone or in person ?

georgeingozo

One reason I ask is that last year Malta SPCA found someone collecting money for them without permission, and the money never arrived

it was in person at the door - and he showed a leaflet

Not sure but I will check and let you know.
They have had people collecting for them before, on the ferry to Gozo, springs to mind.

If its via telephone, how do they collect the donation?

If unsure you can donate via the website and its safe.

by sms usually, or maybe arrange to come in person to collect

do you mean the selling of those booklets for € 3.50, as I believe Noahs Ark only received € 1 of that.

A safe way to donate regularly is via the "Noah's Ark 100 Club" which tells you how to set up a DD for 10 euros a month to benefit the sanctuary.

Just to confirm that there are people selling the HOPE magazine that contains an article about Noahs Ark, the sanctuary gets 1€ per copy sold.
