My contact in Ecuador has gone missing?

Hey Everyone,

I posted a topic a couple of months ago "Canadian going to Ecuador". My intention was to go take part in a volunteer program within the country.

The person who interviewed me and has been corresponding with me has stopped communicating, for about 3 weeks now. On a daily basis I would see her name come online on Skype, and always responded to my emails in a timely fashion. She is a German national, in her mid 20's. As far as I know, she lived in Riobamba but worked some hours in Quito.

What is extra odd, is that in my emails I cc'd the organization she represents, which is supposedly backed by on of the provincial governments there - they too have not responded or acknowledged my emails in weeks.

Can anyone shed light on this? Heard anything in the news there?

Brady, I have not "heard" anything however that does not mean much. The rep may be on vacation or having computer problems. Continue to try to contact the organization to at least confirm there is a position. For a plan "b" try to contact a language school in Quito or Cuenca to see if they have similar positions.
