Hi all, I'm currently employed by a UAE based company and have been given the opportunity to transfer.
I really need to know how difficult it will be to sponsor my son as my career does not fall in the doctors, teachers, nurses category?
I cannot contact my sons father and he is not part of his life, I have been awarded sole custody and guardianship of my son and one of my family members has be awarded guardianship should anything ever happen to me.
The package offered to me will meet requirements with regards finances so I'm just wondering how strict The Ministry of Labour are in relation to job type?
Appreciate all of your help and feeback :)

Many single mothers are here with children.  You can try to get your employer sponsor your family (meaning, your son or other children you may have); or if your son goes to school, the school may be able to assist with sponsorship as a student; even if these two do not work, you can approach the Dubai Residency (DNRD) department, and obtain approval as a special case.  Travel is not a problem with a UK passport as you or your son will get a free visa every time.

Hi mjrv, thanks so much for the info. above. I have my heart set on the big move so I'm quite anxious I get everything sorted without much of a headache. We are from Ireland and would be going to Abu Dhabi but I'm assuming the approvals are quite similar :)

You'll be fine.

AD immigration tend to be a bit more strict but I doubt they'll have any reason to refuse your application.

Thanks Sandman, fingers crossed now!
