Hello everyone, We are considering to move to Erbil Kurdistan, anyone could advise is this a safety place to bring family? I have 2 children 2 and 4 years old, is there good international kindergarten?
How much to rent a house 2-3 bed rooms in American village or British or Italian village? How much for 1 flat 2 bed room in Empire world?
Is there any international university which have good MBA program? I'm planing to start MBA program this year.
Much appreciated for your answer
Jennifer
Hi Jennifer,
I can answer at least one of your questions, about international nurseries. They don't exist. Your only option will be to try to get a foreign nanny. It will be a minimum of 300$ plus tickets for them to go home once a year, plus food, mobile credit, and there may be a fee for just bringing her which could be up to 3000$. It all depends.
Everyone says the University of Kurdistan is good. There is an international university (Sabis), but I don't know if they have an MBA program.
We live in Ainkawa and the rent is about 1000$ for a 3 bedroom house. I'm not sure about American Village and the others.
You should know the nursery situation because no one told me and now I am stuck in a bad situation with my 1 year old.
Best of luck
Hi wingsgirl,
Thanks a lot for your advise, I have look at the British international school and they accept children from 3-5 years. Even thought my 4 years old can join the school but only from 8am - 1pm only and another 2 years old have no nursery to send. This meant I have to stay at home to take care of them and only my husband can go to work...
I don't want to hire a nanny because it is expensive and not convenient, I don't want a strange person live in the house with us.
I have few more questions:
1. is this easy to find some one to do house keeping job for about 3 times/weeks and how much is the fee?
2. I'm thinking maybe I should let my husband stay there on his own for a few months and then if everything is fine then I bring my kids there later, I don't have a decision right now... how do you think?
3. I found a MA program with British University in Erbil, do you know this university? Their website provided only a little information so I don't know if it is good or not?
Thanks a lot and have nice day!
Jennifer

you welcome, i just know that British school open a nursery, i think that will be nice for you and me.
Hi All
I have been moved from Amman to Erbil and currently based there, for rent fees its getting too expensive.
I had an appartment in Royal City (Empire) at $2,000 and you have to pay fixed $300 for service to include electricity and water. But to be honest its a decent place to live.
Thanks, M.J
