Thanks Bob I see your name a lot on the blogs.  There is a good chance I will be moving there by the end of March  Can you give me some info on getting my vehicles there  One of them is a 1946 jeep any issues getting it into the country

The law recently has been changed to allow vehicles up to 10 years of age to be imported for personal use, and you must have owned it for at least two years (tittled in your name).  Older vehicles not allowed.
It is also VERY expensive to import a vehicle but can be a bit cheaper if you do so within 6 months of obtaining your permenant residency as you all allowed one "tax" free container at that time and you can load your car into your container and only one car allowed.
I shipped my Alvalanche 6 years ago without the tax break and the $18,000 valued vehicle cost me over $9,000 (not including the shipping costs) in taxes and registration here. Total was over $11,000.  Your first registration here is $2000. Also note tha the taxes recently have increased.
So the long and short if it is unless you are in love with the car don't bring it.
