Hi, my hearing aid has just died an internal part has rusted and am clueless where to go either fix it or get a new one. Can anybody help? Thanks

I went and saw the only one I recognised off the street in Ipanema today. Got a quote for $3950R per ear! Crazy price. I may as well fly back to UK for that much and get it for free. I thought she ment 2 ears. No just one ear. Crazy crazy

Hi Marisa,

Yeah, the problem here is that they're all imported and as such subject to a 60 percent import tax on top of all the other taxes (6) that everything gets hit with. This is compounded by the fact that mostly they are covered by Healthcare Plans here so the shops can get away with charging outlandish prices. You could easily fly back to the UK and return for what they're charging.
