Play diplomatic, but assert yourself at the right moments even if your job is at stake.
Else, all your ideas will be shot down. You got to let your boss know that you have pertinent and practically implementable ideas. If you shut up your mouth and sit mum like a kindergarten kid who isn't content, you will be the douchebag and you will keep suffering to no end.

Thanks Nash!

I have tried that as well, have exhausted all possible ways to bridge communication gap and worked on enhancing our professional relationship. He is someone who keeps things to his heart and never let go of them.

dude there are books to deal with bad bosses or bad ppl in general
but basically it depends on how powerful is your boss at the company ,
i mean if your boss is middle management
make sure to make friends with his bosses , whether on companies events or if there isn't any u can organize an event
deal with him with most respect & in the same time don't take any shit of him ,
make sure that everyone in the company knows that he's targeting you personally & confirm that it's personal not buisness related , even if u had to make up stories confirming that he's being unfair to you .
& don't waste one opportunity to make him look bad .to your coworkers , clients
hopefully that will shut him down or get him fired ,

if he's the big boss then always remember , it's your job to make him look good , so always make him look good , always give him credit even when he does nothing . complement his ideas even when it's full of shit , be hypocratic to your maximum morale limit :D

hi

well you have to decid yourself if it s a well paid and good job you will have to bear with it all

or challenge your boss and explain

but remember your in DXB .......

best of luck

kshah

right, but what about self respect? somethings are better left regardless of what they pay?

Nash1984

Self-respect is worth a dime if you don't have another job in hand.
Get out there, go a better paying job and then kick his ass before you leave.

Cut the brakes on his car.

Nash1984

Here's the deal! Find out if he is into an extra-marital affair, if you get lucky, just play the card, saying his wife would be quite interested in that. The look on his face would be worth seeing if it turns out to be that way.

yes cut the breaks in his car then you'll end up in jail.. nice job hailey.
While you figuring what to do, start looking for a job somewhere else.
Does your company has open door policy with bigger boss, someone in higher that you can talk to. but before you do that make sure you have details and probes that can help you have a good case. Save emails, phone calls, or anything that can help you to probe your point. Get to know him, you will find he's weak spot. Don't go crazy, sit down and watch him. Most of the time is better to have the enemy next to us, close by so we can study them and then know when and how to attack. But don't do anything that will incriminate you instead of him. Change places instead of being the victim, now become the stalker, the bully.... yesss!! good luck my friend.

I coined the paintwork on a bosses car once. It was his pride and joy.

Are we talking about the way you feel about the situation and your perception of it or cold facts ?

If these are facts, I would suggest an honest discussion in order to clear the air, and if it does not lead anywhere, then act accordingly ;)

Good luck !

I agree with victorian67. Even if you're in a country where it's very difficult (for visa restrictions) to change employers it is far better to get out of a situation where you just can't stand the boss any longer.

You have nothing to lose if you're going to go to another job anyway, so go straight to the boss and have a frank and open discussion. Tell him/her flat out just how you feel about the relationship between the two of you and that if things don't change you're going to leave. If you're a good worker and your boss is happy with the quality of your work I really think things will change drastically if losing you will result.

If your boss is not top-management then go over his/her head and talk to the big boss. Again, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

If you do nothing, just suck it up and keep working under these circumstances you are going to get stressed out and possibly end up with health problems as a result. Better by far to get out and work someplace else than to stay in a good job that's driving you insane because of clashes with your superiors.

If you're rich then the answer is much simpler... just buy out the company and then fire his ass! LOL
