Asking for information about housing in Khobar/Dammam

Hi everyone,

as a total newb to this blog I'd like to ask for some help.
Currently I have an offer to consider..who would have guessed

Alright, little about myself: Bachelor, Male, 30yrs, 5y of work experience. As I understood I get a base salary, car and housing allowance too. I do not think I will get a place in a compound or such.

So, I really could need some advice on housing. Like, whats the average housing benefit I should secure in order to live comfortably off-compound western style? Having recently finished my BA and MSc so I am used to rather modest accommodation However, that was European. Further, I highly doubt I will get many visitors so a 1BR furnished bachelor pad would suffice I guess.

I got no clue how this works in KSA, any sort of input would be much appreciated. Thank you!!

You can get reasonable rentals around Al Jazeera Poly Clinic in the area of Al Thokbah (behind MacDonalds).
