Lojs

Hi!

I am moving to Accra next week 9/2 and I will hopefully be able to keep up my training for a marathon run in June. Have you found any gym that you can recommend?

Nims

Hi Lojs,
A  change of plan my temporary flat  for  the  month as a  gym. However, My  relocation consultant is going to give me a list of gyms  next  week so I will share the info with everyone.
Running a marathon in June wow, I would love to do a marathon but I  have ran for  like  a  month. It takes my body at  least two  weeks to adjust back. I am on mission to get fit again.

Hi Nims;

Greetings
Since you are relocating to Accra, may be you have considered below generic questions, so, Could you tell me

-rental cost of 1 bedroom / 2 bedroom furnished accomodation with electricity and water back up in a gated & secured environment in Accra
-Aprox cost of taxi/cab rental for a month to go to market, office, sight seeing etc
-Aprox cost of grocery, electricity, internet, cable TV, newspaper, telephone, fruits/vegetables/non-veg; etc on average for a single person on monthly basis
-How about safety conerns overall  - thefts, armed robberies, etc.
-Can you give some overall idea about health care facilities, particularly malaria etc. What precaution one has to take and how about the medical facilities there.
-Any other consideration

thanks in advance:

Nims

Hi Greatdreams,

rental  cost  depends on what  area you  want  to  live in
on east legon  outskirt you can  get  3  bedroom  house full furished  from $1000-$1500. you can get places for  $600-$800 Per  calender month but  no  furishing. airport, labone, cantoment areas   start  from $2800.You have to pay rent a  year  or  two  in  advance out here.
cost of cab  depends hmm 4- 10  cedis.

Have  look  at  the  ghanafind website this  will give  you a  rough  idea of property  and cost

http://www.ghanafind.com/search_r-textf … 0rent.html

inregards  to  grocery depends  were  you  shop, I spend about 35cedis( this  included 6 fishes, a  pack of chicken, pasta, bottles  of water, juice, peri peri sauce etc) in  shoprite  and  the  food  should  last me about  10days.
vegtables and  fruit are cheaper to  buy  from market than supermarket.

inregards  to medical care I have no idea has my job  pays  for this.
