Visa though the união estável

Post new topic

Saudades

Hey everyone,

Wondering if you may clarify the process of obtaining a semi-permanent visa when notarizing a stable union contract, known as união estável. My Brazilian boyfriend, who i am joining in rio next month is a lawyer and quite familiar with the law on the issue however of course he hasn't been through this visa process before. S we're wondering how it's going to work out for us.

I got my ticket for April and got a return ticket back to Europe for June, just in case, as I hope that by then i would have got my semi-permanent visa to stay there at least for a year or so.

Any details are appreciated!

And another thing, when preparing some documents from home, e.g. A birth certificate, should I tke it to rio ready notarized from here?

Thanks guys!!

Aurélie
