Hello All,

I'm heading to Shanghai with hopes to move there. Is it possible to arrive on a tourist visa and have it exchanged for a working visa?

Or would it be worth it to pay and commit to a program (for example, an English language school) in order to get a working visa.

Would love to meet when I arrive in Shanghai next week and chat with expats that have been through this transition.

Cheers!

Christine

You can arrive on a 3 month tourist Visa.. and stay here until you find a job... but you will have to leave the country and re-entry from Hong Kong to get your work visa.  Or you can come with a work visa... from a school or other business and they will change it to a mainland china visa

in fact,if you have L visa,it usually have a validity of 1 month,so if you want live longer in china,F visa maybe your choice.
