We have some friends living there.

There are no schools as far as I know there yet. There is also no land lines, so you will not be able to get ADSL - just crappy 3G mobile internet. We were thinking about living there instead of here in Rehab, but will not do anything about this before they have gotten basic services running there.

The sales guy at the company claimed there would be land lines there 1,5 years ago, but untill this day there is none.

Fort renting - you should be able to find a flat pretty cheap, because most of the areas are not inhabitated. It's like a ghost town still.

There is  a British International school there and some services are available..also the sporting club is opened..yes at the moment it is very dead and rent here is cheaper than Rehab..but  down side is it's much to far away from Cairo...but in the future will be much better than Rehab..as it will take a good few yrs to finish so will be more peaceful than Rehab...but for those of you who prefer everything you need to be around you..then it's better to stay put in Rehab right now!.
