Annual leave in Malta

As far as I read "employees are entitled to 192 hours of paid annual leave (24 working days), 4 days of which should not form part of a factory shut down". That is just a legal minimum so I wonder how much vacation leave is commonly offered to the employees (24 or more?)

Are public holidays (14 per year) considered part of the annual leave? In some countries, such as the UK, firms are allowed to include the public holidays as part of the statutory days (28 in the UK).

Annual leave is 24 days per year and then the Public holidays are on top of that.

What does not happen in Malta is that the Public Holidays if they fall on a weekend are not carried forward to the Monday.

Hope this helps

Do you know if I am on probation period I am still entitled to have days off?

Myrkur

Oscar, yes you are

On a pro rata basis? I mean - 2 days for each completed month of work?

Spiridonov

Yes, on probation you have the same rights. Actually, we all have the same right - right to ask boss for day off :)
