Okay.. been here since summer and it's time for a cleaning and checkup. My hospitalization doesn't cover dental so it's up to mebut it rather scares me here.
Where do all of you go .. who do you recommend? ONLY Riyadh, please.
A family friend of mine is Medical Inurance officer in an Executive company so he knows about every freaking hospital, dentist, lap and even pharmacies of Riyadh so i em sure he would suggest me some one worthy enough so u could go and sit on that scary laid back seat where Dentist can almost count your breaths ........Oh my God i m literally scare of them
In my long experience in Riyadh the BEST dental surgeon in twon is Dr DAKKAK at the Consultant Clinics on the Makkah Highway (service road, extension of Khuewais Road towards the west) between King Fahad Highway and Takhasusssi Street.
Telephone 01 465 9100
Ramah Dental & Implant Center

You can try Dr. Maha Al-Haj Dental clinics, phone number 2191922, its on Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz St (Thalatheen-Olaya) if you take left turn from Faisalia Tower signal on Olaya road if you are coming from Kingdom Tower you will be on that street. Best doc, very reasonable price. I have recommended to many friends and all were satisfied even much better than Salman Habib and Kingdom.
i recommend Sigal Dental Clinic (olaya Street)

When the gums are infected bacterial by-products can enter the blood stream and travel to major organs causing other problems. Research suggests that this may contribute to a number of undesirable conditions including heart diseases such as rheumatic fever. So, proper dental care is a must for overall health.

There you go Allie - if you dont get them fangs clean for the next cat attack you gonna get an undesirable condition.
I cant help..I am sooooo petrified of dentists therefore cannot recommend anyone.
We have a dental dept, but I think we are expensive.

Did you go and if so where?
Yes, Alliecat, please report back coz I am a real dental coward, so only take recommendations from people's first hand experience; i.e. you be the life guinea pig please and spare me any pain!
You're lucky. I hate needles so usually have dental stuff with no anaesthetic.
I just stick my hand up when the dentist is getting close to the nerve.
So far, so good.
Actually, I waited until my trip home a few months later (in March) and had the cleaning done with my regular dentist.
Sparrow, maybe we can find a place here that uses 'laughing gas'
Im right there with you all! I hate the dentist and NEEDLES too!
I usually go back to the states for treatment. But if someone finds a good dentist here, please pass along the info.
Allie - Laughing Gas is just not enough for me... I have to be sedated BEFORE i get in the chair!
Best Dentist in town is Dr Dakak at the Consulting Clinics on the Makkah Road (service road) between King Fahd Road and Takhasusi Road. Unfortunately he is a specialist for children's dental care although he does accommodate all of us adults in the family for our own dental needs since our grandkids are his patients. Brilliant medic!

I second this Alliecat, it's pricey but totally worth it..if you like I can send you the name of the dentist I'm seeing (very thorough & professional)

This is good to know I didn't realize there's a children's dental specialist in Riyadh. Thanks Musicman!
Avoid Gamma dental clinic, they tried to rip me off.
I use Dallah hospital dental dept.
Thanks for the info guys found that I have several of the recommended surgery's on my approved supplier list within my dental plan.

Could I get it as well, nothing like a personal recommendation.
I go to King Khaled Univerity Hospital covered with my work, it's not bad
I'm currently visiting a dentist who works for Obaid Hospital. So far I have 3 root canals done and I never felt any pain worth complaining about, and that includes needle shots. His work is quite thorough as well. If you want to try him visit that hospital and ask for Dr. Anas.

Can you please tell me the charges
Visiting the dentist's office used to be the only way into getting your teeth whitened. Doing so you had to spend alot of time and money, and you also had to face the terror of seeing the dentist. Nonetheless more people still yearned for whiter teeth, and so came along the idea of home teeth whitening.

I know a brilliant Dentist: Dr Shamiyah of Noble Smile Dental Care Center +966 (0) 419 77 40 http://www.noblesmile.com.sa/contactus.html he has a multi culture range of clients and often has special rates for expats.

Went there yesterday as I had chipped a tooth. Phoned up and was immediately given an emergency appointment for an hour later.
Impressed by the facilities although wondering about the 'special expat rates' The one problem is that when I presented my Tawuniya card they were not sure if they were linked to them or not. Finding out today and if not will be off to find somebody else covered by my dental insurance.

My sister had her extraction because she stop to go to her dentist for her RCT. So other dentist need to extract it. We have insurance for it, but imagine if we didn't have a insurance we will pay 1,000 SAR. OMG, i was shocked because i had extractin before and i only paid 50 and 100 w/out insurance. I dont recommend safad dental center if your looking for cheaper dental clinic.

Stay away from Noble Smile and Dr. Shamiyya. The hygenist is good but the owner and Dr. are crooks. I visited the practice based only on this recommendation to get 2 crowns made. Long story short, the permanent crowns he made or ordered from the lab were sub par and broke within 10 minutes in my mouth.
He tried blaming me and did not offer to give me my money back until I called the cops and took him to the police station. He comes off nice but stay away from his deceptive practices and aggressive billing schemes. Also, those special expat rates are BS. I asked him about that and in one case he quoted me SAR 150 for a composite filling but when I went to go pay at the front desk, he billed me for SAR400.
STAYAWAY

This Dr. Dakkak "not recommended" at all. Specilly if you are paying cash and not covered by Insurance. I went to him on these recommendations and literally he did nothing for my son. Not even bother to open his mouth and check, and charged good some of money.
Useless doctor!
