I'll start by saying this process is dizzying. My husband and I have never lived abroad. We've read a lot of articles and personally have a number of concerns. But this is an opportunity we decided to not pass on.  First, I'll ask about treatment of woman. Is it as bad as it sounds? During our visit, most men didn't speak and I was told to get used to that fast. A family member warned us to not make friends with non-Muslims because they will try to convert us to their religion. Have you experienced this? I can go on but I'll stop there for now. Any feedback is appreciated.

Why you sound so scared? I'm myself will move to Abu Dhabi as well. I don't understand what you meant treatment of woman. You really don't have to worry about that, no one can even touch you, no matter what religion you follow or what is your background. Not making friends with non-Muslims? I never experienced that, however, if you follow your religion correctly and have faith, why you are worried about it? No one can force you to convert. It is your life in the end.

Regarding men who doesn't speak, I guess not all, but if you are talking about local citizens, it might be true because of cultural and heritage influence in the UAE.
