EU Blue card help???

Post new topic

shaunmoolman

Hi there, my partner has been offered full time employment in Germany. We are both non EU passport holders.

The consulate said I need to have a basic A1 certificate in German before they will allow me a resident permit with my partner who is a highly skilled worker.

The new EU blue card system says I can enter Germany on a resdient permit without knowledge of German? Is this true and where can I get help on this for my consulate explaining this law?

Please help,

thank you

Harmonie

Hi shaunmoolman, for better visibility, your thread has been moved to Germany forum.;)

Hope that you'll soon be advised.

i also read on a variety of sites that you don't need any german knowledge if your spouse has a blue card. you don't really mention if your partner is eligible for a blue card and if she/he applied for one. the rule seems
to be fairly new, so the consular officer might not be up to date on the newest law. you could try asking him/her if he/she could kindly check the law and verify it. good luck!
