Mine took like 2 months...

Same for me, it took 5 months from the time I accepted the job until I was granted the visa.

The immigration changes the friggin rules here on a whim, and it may be a case where your company has to apply for an additional quota position before getting started on your application.

Just keep on top of your GR department, they usually work at two speeds - slow and stop

When you have a work visa and come to work in Libya after how much time a family can come to live with you

It can vary from company to company, Sandman's Mrs got out within 7 weeks of his visa coming through (I think) my Visa came in about 10 days ago, but I expect my wife to be here middle of April (issues in Scotland to sort out).

Just a question... I have a friend from the UK who is interested in a visit. I am assuming he can get a tourist visa for this but I heard from another Turkish friend that ppl coming from the UK need an invitation by a Libyan, Then he offered to get it done for only 250 LYD!

Some guidance would be nice!

Can my friend get a tourist visa upon arrival?

Thanks Mr's of the UK and EU

Na Wa-o, no visas on arrival are given

If your company has a decent travel department, ask them to help you out.

Otherwise your friend will have to go through a travel agency in the UK who specialise in Libyan tours.

With all this talk of them wanting to bring 700,000 tourists a year to Libya, the current system is completely archaic!

Danke Mr Sandman, Btw I saw her walk by me the other day grabbing a cab at simafra Salhattin! (your pic)

Thanks for the advice tho. I have dual citizenship, and in the past Turks needed a visa to come and there was some thing in arabic that was sent to me, a list with my passport number on it, I am not sure but I think it was an invitation... Im just not sure if you can do the same for Brits, I shall figure it out.

As for the travel agency, that could also be an option.

You are right about entry for tourists, Complete rubbish! haha
