Hi Cat (and everyone else),

Hope you're settling in to life in Milan okay!
I'm from Glasgow and am moving to Milan on the 26th September for at least a year to teach English in a new school there. I know zero Italian right now so would love to meet some English speakers when I move.

I am also struggling to find a room for rent in the center - could anyone recommend any websites or know of anyone who is renting one out?

Thank you :)

Nicola

What is Cologne?

I think he meant Colonne meaning columns (Colonne di San Lorenzo). It's a cool night hangout spot with roman (if I'm not mistaken) columns where everyone drinks and chills outside under the sky :). It gets quite crowded when the weather is nice.

Other cool places would be corso como (garibaldi) with nice bars and quite elegant ambiance (it's newly revitalized so looks clean :P ). Then there is corso sempione (street infront of arco Della pace which looks like arc d'triomph) :)

Hi Nicola,
Renting an apartment is quite painful in Milan lol. But that being said, here is a great website to get you started - http://www.immobiliare.it
You will bump into Italian everywhere here and majority of the people won't speak english (outside of the touristy places ofcourse) -_- so just be prepared for that :)

Ciao!
I'm originally from the US (NYC) but been living in Milan for a few years now. Would be great to catch up with other english speakers!
For the newcomers, welcome to Milan, and let me know if I can be of any help.

How about a mid-week aperitivo in Brera?

Ciao,
Vic

Hi all!  I'm interested in meeting up with everyone too, I've lived in Milan for two years now.  I've been taking a "vacation" back home in California for 9 months, but will be back in Milan in October.

Hi guys,

I just moved to Milan as part of work for three months. I don't speak Italian (which is a shame I know) so it would be nice to meet a few English speakers while I am here.

If anyone knows of any soccer teams in the area that I could join that would be great also. I would love to play while I am here. English or Italian speaking it doesn't really matter.

ciao,
Liam
