Hello all!!!
I just joined this network about a week ago.  I have lived in Paris for most of my twenties and am just finishing up my masters thesis in the city.  I love traveling and experiencing new cultures.  I look forward to reading various experiences you have had in different countries as I am always on the hunt for the next place to visit/research.  I have a passion for Africa and am trying to find development work there.  I try to write stories in my blog daily about the different traveling experiences I have.  Lots of them include my French bulldog, Indy (so named after Indiana Jones).
Can't wait to get to know some of you better!
Cheers!

Thanks Christine!  This site is pretty cool, I had never heard of it before my friend showed it to me last week.  What a great forum for sharing information and tips on living abroad!

Welcome wanderingmenace !

any idea of your next destination ?

wanderingmenace

Well it looks like it could be Zurich, Los Angeles, or London.

Working on a book project so not entirely sure where the next stop is as of yet, but am excited to give anyplace a try!!!

Well the Caribbean sure is tempting....its an absolutely gorgeous part of the world.  I've spent some time in the Dominican Republic on vacation.  I fell in love with the water and the people.  I definitely want to go research some of the islands.  Been to Aruba and St. Kitts and thought they were both breathtaking.
Spent much time there yourself?

Hi WM!

Welcome to the forum! I just signed up here myself. I'm originally from New York City, and I find myself in Denmark, after losing my job as a librarian, having worked in the profession for about the past 20 years. But adversity begets opportunity, so I took it to enroll in an adult boarding school to learn Danish. Out of college I had been a professional linguist, so I'm just getting back into working on my latent interests in the Nordic Languages. After Denmark I hope to spend a little time each in Sweden, Norway, and Iceland.

Interestingly enough, our class is making a one-week class trip to Paris at the end of April. I've studied French before, so I'll try to work on it a little before I get there, so that at least I could read the signs or the newspaper. If you have any interesting "insider" Paris tips, I would love to know them!
