Single entry work permit visa

Post new topic

rosecabrera

Hello I am Rose.

I would just like to ask if I still need to apply for a different type of Visa if I wanted to travel around the schengen area? I applied for a single entry work permit visa, as instructed by my employer.

Thank you!

Hi Rose,

I'm going to apply for the D type visa soon (after getting my work permit) and I'm assuming it is the same type as yours. From what I understand, after asking a few people who have already immigrated to Belgium (a friend named Aneesh told me), that you'll need to register yourself with the local commune in your area in Belgium after which you'll no longer require your visa. Once that is done, you'll get an ID which you can use for re-entry into Belgium. I think it is the same ID that you can use to travel in the Shengen countries.

If your visa is mentioned valid for "Schengen States", you can use it to travel inside Schengen countries.

Once you have the Residence Permit, as gka rightly mentioned, Residence Permit + passport allows you to travel inside Schengen area.

Oh really?? That is great! Thank you for the information.
