Service & Agent fees

Hi guys, I was reading an article yesterday about charge for estate agents & property service charge for renting. Can anyone confirm the below for me?

Estate agents charge 10% of first months rent + vat

Monthly property service charge of 18%

sounds about right (paid by the owner)

Hi George, many thanks for the reply. Well thats goods news if the owner has to pay the service charge and not the tennant, that would certainly bring the rent up! Yea the estate agent fee's are very saucy in Malta....

Those aren't the normal estate agent fees, but ongoing fees if the owner wants the agent to manage the tenancy - I'd say its quite rare for owners to use an agent to do this

id say that was about right - i done know any owners who would want to pay a penny when a halfpenny would do...lol
