Howie, if you'll turn around and get someone to take a photo of the back of your head, and post it as your avatar, it may look almost as good as mine.:dumbom:

Saigonmonkey, you forgot the bra. I am so dammed sick of Wild's naked picture. Even his emoticons are naked (if you don't count the shoes).

Ashard Deen

Maybe we can get him a "bro" or was it a manssier from Sienfield? I am sure Howie was the inspiration behind that brilliant idea.

Anatta

Ashard
Haha. That is a good one.

Ashard Deen

Miss Saigon monkey, I thought it was inappropriate to laugh on an abortion thread.

Wild_1

Ashard, that's why I came here to laugh!  http://www.sherv.net/cm/emo/laughing/hearty-laugh.gif

That's what one gets for using amother person's image.  Do you hear me Budman and Anatta???

Twas only a smile, not a laugh, Miss Deen. Know your emoticons!:dumbom:

Ashard Deen

Sorry Anatta, the avatar photo Howie offered is way cooler.

Ashard Deen

Great find Howie,10 points.

Anatta

So you guys are more of Bob Marley's than Kiss band's fans, eh?

Wild_1

No man, we are not as funky as you!

saigonmonkey

Anatta wrote:

Anatta, it's like this... Marley is timeless. Anyone of any age can like him and his music. Kiss, on the other hand, is a band I liked when I was 15 years old, way back in 1977. I've kinda grown out of them now.

Anatta

Saigonmonkey,
For you, I can understand, but for miss Petra Pan who still has the 70's hairstyle and boast about her BMX bike skills, I don't get it :P.

Wild_1

Anatta,

Look at your avatar.  It has your name on it.  Wait.  What do they call that hair do; it's so black, I can't see?  Anyway, it also has b..., b...

Who are you calling Miss?  Want me to find you an avatar???

Miss Petra
Don't envy my fan's natural assets. Also, I can't help if my fan print my name on her picture .

Wild_1

Who's Petra?  :dumbom:

So...  They are natural now, hey?  http://www.sherv.net/cm/emo/simpsons/choke.gif

Had to bump this thread up.  Plus, whatever happened to Budman, since his avatar spree?  Anatta, don't tell me he went on to marry a young chick...

Anatta

I thought he is married to a chicklet, given how young his "mother in law" looked

Wild_1

I think Budman is mad at us.

OK.  Let's poke fun at Miss Saigonmonkey over there, or Ashard...

You go first, Anatta.  :top:

I'd like to marry a young chick except she'd drop me after a day

Wild_1

Yeah.  Because you can't afford to pay her parents off, Khanh?

I can't see you making it to 5 and earn your automatic Vietnamese citizenship...

Have you been negotiating, at all?   http://www.sherv.net/cm/emo/laughing/laughing-hard-smiley-emoticon.gif

khanh44

no because I'm too frugal.

Getting by the first one is always tough. Once it's done the rest should fall like dominoes.

saigonmonkey

Hi to all those interested:

I have an announcement that's perfect for our "No-Topic Thread".

On Monday, 29 July, at 12:49pm, MR. Saigonmonkey's wife, Mrs. Saigonmonkey, had a baby girl Saigonmonkey! 3.545kg, 52cm long.

Saigonmonkey is a proud papa.:D Mrs. Saigonmonkey and baby are doing fine at FV Hospital.

Howie, FYI, it is biologically impossible for a "Miss" to make a baby with a "Mrs.":dumbom:

Ashard Deen

Congrats man to you and your missus!

P.S It's too late to educate Wild1 now.

Citsym

congrats ... well done. Happiness to you three

khanh44

Huge congratulation and many wishes for health and longevity for your baby girl. Is this your first?

Thanks Khanh.

First (and only) for my wife, third for me. I have a son, 27, and a daughter, 24, in US. My son has been married for over 3 years now, but no kids yet. So I'm showing him how it's done. :D

Thanks Citsym and Ashard too!

Gotta give it to Saigonmonkey...

Congrats, bro!!!

I posted this on THD's "Why we get moderated" thread:

It's not designed for us to hang out, socialize, joke and play with each other!  It's designed for us to come on, ask a question, browse the ads in the classifieds or banner ads while we wait for the answer, then we go on our own ways.  That's why when a person starts a thread asking a question "How do I extend my Visa?", several people are suppose to give answers, and people simply pick one that is the best answer and use the recommend button.  We're not suppose to blab about our medical problems or relationship issues, or anything not related to the question (hence the many off-topic reminders).

Three years ago, the first time I posted here trying to find out about a "Reputable computer repair shop in HCMC", Ex-pat Blog was almost exactly as you describe above, and I thought it was GREAT! Now, unfortunately, you're right that it has turned into a somewhat useless social networking site, and I fault the moderators (for allowing it) and all the locals who start(ed) threads such as "I wanna make some friends", "I'm bored - anybody wanna hang out?", "Hey let's meet for coffee somewhere", and my favorite, "I wanna learn English, do you wanna learn Vietnamese?". And again, this is the fault of the moderators for allowing this to happen over time. Are you reading this moderators? I'll be among the first to admit that I post some useless stuff here as well, but it's usually just in keeping with all the other stuff (entertainment) that this website has become. Maybe part of the reason so much social networking has taken place here is that Facebook IS STILL blocked by many ISPs here (mine at home still has it blocked, but I have a workaround on my computer to access it and THAT INFORMATION WAS OBTAINED RIGHT HERE ON Expat.com!) So Julien needs to decide what will be the direction of this blog going forward, and train his moderators to enforce it as such. I will gladly go along with whatever they decide.

saigonmonkey

Sorry THD:
Budman thought of this idea first, so I'm using his thread. But I still love ya man...

I didn't know there was one already created so it's fine.  Since many like to ramble, might as well have two conversations that has to do with nothing going on.

Here's some good news for the day.  Talks about the recent flooding in Quảng Ngãi.  Maybe AP and bluenz know this guy.
