If you are not a citizen or your spouse is not a citizen of the island , forget about buying land  in Mauriitus. You are not allowed.

If you are willing to splash out at least $500,000, you can get yourself a duplex. At about $ 1 million or more, you can enjoy life in a luxury residential unit.

Cheers!

Dude, as mentioned by External, you cannot buy land in Mauritius if you do not have citizenship. Therefore, you cannot build either if you cannot buy land. You only have IRS/RES schemes at your disposal. There are luxury projects implemented for foreigners and the rates are as I have mentioned above, that is a minimum investment of $500,000. You will be entitled to a residence permit as long as you own the property.

You can also buy an apartment in a more than 2-storey complex if you settle as a professional earning more than Rs 90,000 ( $3,000) monthly.
