Hello,

Does anybody know if there is a kind of facility by Indian family who can provide home made food daily?

These kind of services are popular in US. Is it the same case in Norway too?

Regards,
Asmita

I guess there are no such services in Norway as I have not received any reply. It can be a good business options for Indian women though by providing home made Indian food at economic rates

My guess is there would be a lot of regulations involved in setting up such a business in Norway.

Perhaps you should start a new topic for that question.

See I came across this site http://www.indiskmat.com/Default.aspx

But although it is catering it is for celebrations, events so it will be very expensive just to eat this food for lunch.

Why dont you however try to contact them or other Indian cafes in Oslo and ask if you can get a 50% discount if you purchase the food daily? Remember some of the Indian cafes dont get enough customers and they might agree who knows? Perhaps something more simple like chappathi, dhaal , biryani rather than Butter chicken...

I think it would be fair to charge 50 kroner for an Indian lunchbox of rice, dhaal and samosa if you purchase daily but I dont know if they will agree

You can consult Tamil / Sri Lankan cafes as well as they also sell Indian food.

Thanks for the help.. Yes this site looks good. But dont know what they will charge if I take food daily from them. I will check it.
Good Indian food is I guess a bit hard to find in Norway. In other countries we do have the facilities of getting home cooked food in form of tiffin services :(

I think the way forward is to look around in Grønland and see if there are any Indian or Pakistani/Sri Lankan-owned cafes.

Restaurants are very expensive in Norway so who wants to pay 200 kroner for lunch? But some of the take-aways , even pizza & kebab take-aways might offer 1 or 2 Indian dishes on their menu..

I think some of these cafes are quite informal and flexible, so they might be interested in reducing the price by 50 or 60% if you agree to buy daily, perhaps you could pay a week or month in advance...

I once went into a Sri Lankan owned cafe/take-away place in or near Grønland, and I remember that they sold idli and wada - it will be this kind of food you should aim at.
