Hi I am an English Dental Hygienist thinking about applying for jobs in UAE .Where is the best area to apply at the moment Could anyone offer me some advice at all?Lots of jobs out there but is Qatar safe for a single woman-Or do you find yourself in a great job -but cooped up and no where to go ??   .Qatar Petroleum seem to have a job opening for a Dental Hygienist at the moment .Anyone work for them at all .The vacancy looks pretty vague :0 .

Qatar Petroleum is a good place to work, any it is a Ministerial Organisation... I think there is no litigations in having a job from Qatar Petroleum... about Qatar it is a cool place not like Dubai at all...Just confirm that the job is directly through Qatar Petroleum or some Sponsor who would recruit you as a Sub Contractor.. If so that will be very bad for you if you are going into a Sub Contractor's hands...Confirm that you are being recruited directly to Qatar Petroleum...Take Care

It depends on you. In UAE 3 most talked about places are Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah. Dubai is a modern and metropolitan city , like living in a "dream" and Abu Dhabi is catching up fast too.

Qatar ? Doha ? My personal view, Abu Dhabi and Doha do have similarities [ notable one that these 2 cities are sitting on top of the oil and gas reserves], so fundamentally these 2 cities do have great futures [ as long as the oil and gas price remain stable]. The governments are diversifying the economy so as not to rely solely on oil & gas revenue stream as I understand from my reading, Qatar does focus on education and tourism as one of their strategic thrust for its economic development.

Having said that , my next question to you will be, why do you want to make a move, especially to this region ? Once you are clear and know the exact reasons, no matter whatever decision you will be making, you will be able to handle whatever it may come.

Qatar is a very safe place even for a single lady. However, still you have to be careful no matter how safe the place is. i.e. not to walk in a dark and little corner dark and creepy streets- you know what I mean. I know few single ladies, and they are quite happy to work here- again it is very subjective and relative what does happiness means :)

All the best, and I can rest assure you, that living and working in Doha are full of surprises and it can be fun, if you are flexible and have an open mind about everything .
