I am working in Vietnam and have found work for a Philippine band here in HCMC, can anyone tell me what is the procedure for getting the band here from the Philippines?

I think you should have their back and fort plane tickets for immigration or better yet have them an invitation letter from a company or friend.

I have an invitation letter but i am told that i need a contract, most clubs are not willing to offer contracts unless the see and hear the performers live, so it's the chicken and the egg syndrome here.
There must be a way around it, i just don't know it yet.

what do you actually do? are you managing a Philippine Band to perform in clubs in Vietnam or do you recruits bands from the Philippines.  Who told you that they need a contract from the club or employer? Can you elaborate more or be more specific. maybe I can give a tip.

Let the band go in VN as a tourist to perform in that specific club first then after, maybe you can come up with an arrangement and ask for a contract from the employer so they can have their working visa processed. I believe a written contract is really needed as one of the requirements to get a working visa.

Thanks very much.

:)

Do you sing?

versan

hahaha... so from her looks you can tell she also sings... :)

Mark0

Not really but it would be a bonus, don't you think, that is if it really is her.

versan

Well, its not our problem if she is a poser. But for what I think, I bet she can sing as an amateur. Many Filipinos really loves to sing.

Took your advice and they were offloaded last night.

Thats bad advice to have them go over on a tourist visa and then start working.

What was their reason why they were stopped, is it by Philippine Immigration?

versan

Maybe they have answered wrong to the questions of Immigration. They should have told that they were just visiting the place or country or even a friend. Also they shouldnt have brought their instruments.

Did they have a return ticket?

Hii  Marko! If your booking is still available, i have musician friends here who are willing to go to Thailland for work.  Vietnam is a good place to perform...
