Can someone tell me how to determine the best area for soil quality. Of course the closer to the coast the worse the soil. But what about the Dangria/ Hopkins areas? How do your gardens grow? We are wanting to set up a small garden and don't mind doing the amending but need to start somewhere.

You are right,soil quality goes down closer to the coast.
Inland soil is fertile. In pine ridge quality is not great.
But there are plants that can be grown in any of these areas.
You can always improve quality of soil by compoast
