english teaching job- bahrain

hello

i am not yet in Bahrain but busy doing my research on possibly moving there. i would like to teach english as i heard it is a good income for expats there as well as the fact that i love kids and anglish.

can anyone tell me what the qualifications needed are in order to teach in Bahrain. i plan on doing a tefl english teaching course but have been told that in some places this is not enough and a university degree is needed.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

In order to teach English here you need to have a degree from a university in English and a degree in teaching.

Your post on here is written in very good English, but not good enough to be classed as a teacher unless you teach privately and not in a school.

Probably best that you go on to the individual school websites and look at their situations vacant section for further information.

Please have a look at the List of Educational Institutions in Bahrain article on Wikipedia, which lists all the schools and other educational institutions in Bahrain. The pay for teachers in Bahrain is not very bad, but it is not very good either. Depending on where you teach, expect to get an income of between 750 BD and 1,750 BD a month.
