She's had some lookers while I've been here.  U're right, it's a lot of work.  She's selling & moving back to Boulder, CO.

I hope U're thinking of visiting this hot guy in San P!  :D

Too funny!   I don't think I've had an invitation...... LOL

At any rate, I have been thinking about a trip to the Cayes soon. Now it may have to be delayed a bit as my purse was snatched day before yesterday so with shutting down credit and debit cards, I need to see what I can do.

And do you ever visit Corozal?

SPmQQse

san pedro has been my home since 1991....ive seen alot there and...all over the counrty...
i would not advise anyone to move to belize...these days...
the place is  a  hotbed of corruption....!
the realestate agents paint a very nice picture....but  dont belive it.!!

i love the place....but....  it  sure  isnt  paradice..!!

come.rent.  decide....after  6 months....
and  check every news media house for  the  truths...do not rely on the tourists  brosures...

this site/media house tells it like it is...

U're invited!

Bummer about your purse!  Hazard w/carrying one, I suppose.  Get one of those front packs.  Hope U're not too traumatized.

Corozal is prolly easy by the water taxi.  It'll have to be after I move to San P & the dust settles.  I'm only a short hop to the water taxi pier.  If I come, where should I stay?  Have a spare bedroom?  :)

Cheers,
Major Fun

SPmQQse.   It isn't paradise for all...  But for me it certainly is!  For all it's corruption, quirks, bumps in the road, issues and problems.....  Belize is home for me now.  I really love it!

Oops!  Time for darts and Jam Rock.  Tomorrow....yoga.   Life is good.

Every Inn and guest house in Belize is for sale. LOL!

We stayed a few days at Orchid Bay in October and found it pleasant. It was pretty quiet, being the low season. Folks who live there gather at the lone restaurant/bar and seem to be trying to build community with movie night, soup night and the like. Everyone we met was friendly. The housing is nice, old world charming.

The thing about Orchid Bay, though, is that it is still in its infancy. The population is quite small and there are scores of empty lots awaiting buyers. Construction was under way for a small shopping area and a resort but the place has a ways to go.

I don't know the tipping point when it will become a sustainable community in its own right but when that happens OB will be a desirable place to live.

Hello there everyone!

Well, I finally decided that my home country it´s definitely not the place I want to live. The whole social and economic thing it´s just crumbling, therefor...grey days, grey faces and grey salaries. So, if i´m gonna be poor, might as well be it in a sunny place, right?  :D Or not...
I haven´t figured out where in Belize would be a good place to stay, so i´m hoping i get a little help there. A beach and a cottage would be so lovely...!
Just have a little small tecnical, MAJOR problem...if I decide to go there, i´ll probably carry with me about 1800 $us...so i don´t know if this idead becomes...well...extremely ridiculous...
Is it hard to find a job there? Are foreigners well accepted? I´m not very ambitous when it comes to money, just want enough to live by...
I´m a photographer. Do you think there´s an open market for it, there? Like photojournalism, tourism related...if not, bares or something like that?
And about finding a place to live, well something cheap would be nice...how about renting a room, or share a place, is it possible there?
Well, this is all i wanted to share, for now, with you good people, and hopefully get some feedbacks... Many thanks in advance!

Hello! .....  What we do not want, is to bring America to Belize. From what I have read, the two countries vary deeply and that is what we seek!

Hello Team,  :)

It is the first time I see such a responsible statement like yours!  :top:  What you do not want to do is EXACTLY what Americans do here in the island.
Thank you for refusing to contaminate the nearby countries.

John,
I feel that it IS the responsible thing to do as well :). Being from a non retiree age bracket, I want to see a change and believ that it can be found in BZ. We are still waiting to sell some land here before we move. :( unless anyone needs a builder or designer ..... :) then we could move ASAP

Best to all!

Just purchased a condo in San Pedro.  Worked with Becky at Sunrise reality.  Not sure if they have any rentals to fit your needs, but would definitely trust their recommendations, sure they could point you in the right direction!
We researched for several months, talked to numerous realtors and they were the best by far.

Thanks for the input!

Hi.  I moved to Belize from Canada two years ago, and have not regretted it one second.  While definitely a third world country, life is much simpler here.  I would suggest coming down and renting a place for six months or so to see if it is for you.  Happy travels!
