Ale and stout in Vietnam

I am a beer enthusiast and have been searching for good beer everywhere in Vietnam. I have asked at least 100 times for a ale. I have even contacted foreign companies but they say that the demand is too low here.

I have recently discovered that there are about 20 microbreweries with amazing beers. See the article here:

or at http:beervn.com

so in other words. There are no ale, ipa, stout, or other real hoppy or malty beers on bottle and can. The closest you get is in one of the microbreweries. I have found 21 in Vietnam, 4 in Saigon and 1 in Nha Trang. Also there is a hoavien brewery in Mui ne.

Do any one know of other microbreweries in Vietnam?

I am glad that you posted this. I don't understand why VN does not have better beer. When you look at normal Vietnamese cuisine, it is full of taste. Vietnamese (non-alcoholic) drinks also have so much flavor. My Vietnamese friends would scoff at the thought of drinking tasteless American-style drip coffee, but wouldn’t dare part with their Heineken and other tasteless watered down excuses for beer. How is it possible that in a country where everything that people put in their mouth is bursting with flavor that people can drink beer that has so little taste? It boggles my mind.

Yep it's the only thing I miss from back home, a good pint of ale.
I've been to 3 out the breweries here in HCMC, both of the ones in NHA Trang and Mui Ne and while the beer is good it's not ale.

Stout is occasionally available, more often in can than draught form, but it's usually way over priced so I odn;t bother with it. Now ale\bitter I'd pay for without question, but all a matter of taste :)
