I have 5 year old daughter who needs to go kindergarten next year.
beside the many international schools in district 2 (live close to it)I was wonder if any one has experience with any of these schools and like to hear from you what you think of them.
besides some have crazy high fees but wondering if they are worth it. such as the american international vietnamese school/ australian int, british etc, your view on these schools would be appreciated
thanks yoland

Hi Yoland

There a a lot of international schools in D.2 - and both ISHCMC, BIS and AIS are quite expensive. They are all popular, and usually have waiting lists for enrollment. The are big schools with 800 to more than 1500 students.

Some people like to enroll to AIS if of Australian nationality, BIS if British etc. However the international school in Ho Chi Minh City (mostly) welcome all nationalities. Some schools might be have more of one nationality suppose to a mix of nationalities.

A new kid on the block in the German International School in Thao Dien. I have heard a lot of good things about it. It is a little smaller, and the layout of the campus is different than the other schools as they have villas instead. My friend has her son (age 3) there, and likes it. They have a lot of differnt nationalities among the students. And she found it appealing that the Early Years have their own villa with nice facilities such as pool, sandpit, playground.

Tuition wise, the school is also less expensive than ISHCMC or BIS - but I think you can check their website for this information, or even just stop by to talk to the staff.

I would probably recommend that you visit a few of the schools and talk to the staff/teachers. The you can get a feeling off whether or not it is the right place for your daughter.

Good luck with the search =)

thanks Nanna,
have been in contact with the german school already but their price level almost the same as the ais and bis. all good schools but also expensive , but having to put two kids in school by next year looks like I have to take on another job:)

Try TAS (The American School of Vietnam) on Nguyen Van Huong, Thao Dien, D2.  My 14 & 9 year old children went there the last 3 school years.  It's a young school. Still developing but they do have good teachers.  My children loved it there.  Their price is reasonable compare to BIS and others.  Good luck.
