Hi,
Still asking questions about transportation as it will be my major problem if i don't find a rent near to the area where i will be working inchallah

So this time my question is about budget or cheap car leasing for very small cars that will take you safely from point A to point B with AC no need for a big car just safety and AC

Thank you very much in advance

scottrace

Try Tooranco or if you arent fussy about what sort of car then try Marshall Cars - both in Juffair

At the airport there are a few car rental companies as well. In the arrival area. You could check their prices out as well.

Do check on the license requirements, if you are planning on hiring a car here. Typically it depends on the type of visa you enter the country in and the acceptance of your license by authorities here. You wouldnt want to get here and then realize that you cannot hire a car because of visa type or license acceptability.

There is a new hire company just opened that has a whole fleet of brand new cars. Kia Rio for example (Brand new) is BD160 for the month. Inclusive of everything. If you want details PM me, they don't advertise, but work purely on word of mouth.

Car hire at the airport is highly inflated so please don't go there. Get a cab to your accomodation and then hire.

You have to be over 25 to hire in Bahrain.

Other option is to hire a local driver who will take you most places for around BD2. These are NOT legal taxi's so only use one that is recommended. Will be useful until you get sorted.

Most hire companies will either bring the car to your home or send a driver to collect you.

There are many other Car Rental companies in Bahrain such as Budget, Elite, Avenue, Hertz and many, many more. Some of them don't even have websites but still provide a very good service.

Let us know on the forum if you need any further help and how you get on so the others can benefit from the answers.

Good luck!

From experience all of the above are way more expensive than other rental companies. Please shop around for quotes. All cars here have AC and are predominately automatic

Hi Jo, we have finally arrived and are being spoilt by looking after a friends villa, 4x4 and cat, which lease company is it that you mention ? we have an offer through the British School from Sixt, but its only for a Kia Rio, like i say i have been spoilt with the Chevvy Trailblazer and would like something bigger.
We also need a nice 2 bed villa if you know of anything.
Thanks in advance

Welcome to Bahrain (and to the BSB community!)

Try Tooranco - I use them and havent yet found anywhere cheaper - the car I have is not huge but its well maintained and the guys down there are really helpful.

Am pretty sure Jo will be along shortly with her real estate contact to help you out.

Hello Scot, thanks for reply, sorry I didn't mean to single you out, you were very correct, just got a reply back from your recommendation, impressive pricing. They are looking favourable so far.

Hi, I'm getting a Chevy Trailblazer for BD250 a month lease from National Motor Company in Sitra. Brand new. If you go there ask to speak to Keith Fernandes. I also use Tooranco and I also got their details from Scottrace, they are a fantastic company. I have a Kia Carans 7 seater from them which will be handed back as soon as I get my Trailblazer. They do Kia Rio's for BD160 - they are virtually brand new and lovely cars.

I will introduce you to my real estate friends as soon as you are ready.

this topic is very old,

What about 2017, what is the best solution to Rent a Car in Bahrain for 1 month ?

OL1

I was using "Budget" in Almoayyed Tower Seef for a few months and was renting a Ford Figo 2014 model for 130BD/month and had nothing wrong with it. I also had a friend using "Oscar" for 100BD/Month but was a very old car.

Thanks alot for your help

Hi,

Do you know of any places that give you a letter for the causeway to Saudi Arabia. I need to commute to Khobar and need a car that can go across...

Thabks!

Pretty much most of the big agencies will do that on longer term rentals BUT you have to be resident in Bahrain, and are commuting to Saudi.  Not the other way round.
