Hello,

My family and I are currently expats living in Melaka. My wife is currently home schooling both of our children, however, since my daughter is about to enter high school, we are wanting to relocate to KL for her. I will still be working out of Melaka and commuting back and forth, and would like some help trying to find an area to live in.  I have heard that Bangsar is a nice area, as well as KLCC, but I am afraid of the traffic coming back from work.

Any help would be appreciated.

We are still looking for areas in KL.  My wife is also looking into the international schools there.  She has seen a lot of positives about the Australian International School, even though we are not Australian.  Any other schools out there we may want to consider?

true,, i heard the aussie school is good

Hello Madjap,
Take a look at ELC International School. My son went there and their fees are comparitavly reasonable.

There is another International school being bulit right now by the name of IGB. Here is their link.

Both of these schools are located very near nice areas to live. One of them is Valencia which is a Gated and Guarded resort township. It comes compelte with a 9 hole golg course, swimming pool, tennis etc.

Hello,

I live in Mont Kiara, it is a very nice expat area but rental is costly and no public transport here. Bangsar is also a very nice area with both locals and expats, but again rental is high but has the LRT station.

I think where ever you live in KL the traffic is going to be crazy. My hubby works in the city which is only 6 miles away and sometimes it can take up to 2 hours to get home.

Good luck

bangsar is good,,and the traffic is not that bad
i live in bangsar and if you look around, you can get a decent place in bangsar for decent price
depends whats your budget and what type of house you looking for

Bangsar has gone down hill a bit - heard many problems in condos with 10 indo workers sharing one place and starting trouble (drugs, drinking, crime). Also always was a bad place for kids as temptations around of a western sort. Most Malaysians I know avoid the place for living and moved out years ago. So be careful where also - some parts are expensive and ok. The more affordable places I was warned to stay away

caesar1956

could be, depends which part of bangsar and condo or villa

There is a list of schools, some of which are at least 45 minutes closer to Melaka - it may help to review them and check on any waiting lists and when entry exams will be available.
