Got an Opportunity in Malaysia .. !!

Post new topic

ak0307

Hi All,

I am an IT Professional in Delhi/India with a total of around 9 Yrs of Experience. I got one opportunity from Malaysia. I am still not done with the salary discussion and bit confused to finalize the expectations. My current gross is INR 13.5 L p.a and i generally get 85K In hand. My wife is also working and she is getting around 35K in hand. There is one Loan running up so 35K out from total. So makes it a total of INR 85K p.a.
Now if we plan to move to Malaysia, then we will be looking for the single Income, till the time she will get the job. So if we consider all the expenses, taxes, commute, grocery, rent, food etc. What will be the average salary I should ask for
???

Cheers
AK.

Thanks Mate for your response.
Lets Suppose she will not work there, then in that case, what will be the amount i shall be asking there ?? If my Salary is 1.20 Lac Here and I am looking for a job, then what will I be asking there. In any case, i am looking for Career Growth too and if i am looking for something in my current city, i am expecting 35-40 % Appraisal. So, keeping all factors in mind, what do you suggest ?

Ak..
Afer conversions, you are managing your expenses at around 6900RM and that too in Delhi. Are you having your own house there?
Cost wise, cities like Mumbai and Delhi can be considered to be not at par but almost there as compared with KL.
Main hole burners will be rent. You did not mention kids, so I wont talk about schooling..!
To my calculations, you should target 12k RM as salary coz first six months you will be taxed at 26% and these are precisely the months when you need comfortable money at your hands to properly set up your life in a new city..!
If your wife can find some work after coming here, then it will be a bonus..! :)
Hope this helps..!!
Cheers..!

Dear coooolguy_tdh

I have a very basic query:

The Company that I will be joining in KL, has aked me to attest photocopies of my educational certificates from Indian embassy/ Malaysian embassy.

I had a word with an agent in India and he told me a long procedure including thet my original document would be stamped by Malaysian Embassy. He also quoted INR 1,800/- for one certificate.

I am unable to fathom this. Could you please through some light on this.

regards

Hi
I can share with you my experience with my employer in Malaysia. I did not have to get any certificates attested from anywhere. My employer managed everything with scanned copies of my certificates.
BUT I had my degree attested from two offices in New Delhi when I applied I was selected for a project in Dubai.
Yes these days there are agents who get the job done for you. But if time is of essence, then I suggest you carry out the attestations yourself. It will not take more than a week for both attestations. Plus saves you the agent cost..!
Cheers..!

Brother,
Where do you apply for banking jobs? I am a banker by profession too

carlyle1979

cool guy and ibanker, i had to do the first attestations u mentioned. i had to also attest from the uae ministry of foreign affairs for my job in dubai and malaysia ministry of foreign affairs for my job in malaysia.

coooolguy_tdh

Well.. Then I got lucky I suppose..! :) Coz my degree is not attested by Malaysian authorities, still I am here on work visa..
Even I was a bit surprized when my HR told me there's no need for any attestations..!
Cheers..!
