Bonjour, une petite carte vous donneras quelques informations sur les quartiers les plus sûrs http://www.neighborhoodscout.com/il/chicago/crime/ ou http://www.chicagomag.com/Chicago-Magaz … e-Suburbs/ ou
Facts
In the 12 months ending mid-February 2011, 9,496 violent public crimes occurred in Chicago, according to Chicago Police Department statistics. Violent public crimes include murder, sexual assault, assault, battery and robbery that occur in a public place. But Chicago is lower on the list as a violent city, ranking 27th among American cities in violent crimes per 100,000 people. Overall crime rates are down, especially murders which have decreased by more than 50 percent since 1989. In 2010 Chicago recorded 449 homicides. Violent crime does not permeate Chicago, but is concentrated in certain areas.
Neighborhoods
Chicago defines 77 distinct neighborhoods or "communities." Statistics show that violent crime occurs unequally among them and, in fact, is clustered in adjoining sections. Almost 70 percent of violent crime occurs in just 20 neighborhoods, and most of these are located on the west and south side of the city; the worst neighborhood, Austin, reports almost 800 annual violent crimes. Conversely, much safer neighborhoods rule the majority of the city; over 50 percent report fewer than 60 annual incidents. Seventeen neighborhoods reported less than 20 violent crimes; Edison Park on the northwest side reports no violent incidents.
Safe Stays for Visitors
Relatively low violent crime rates cover most of the city, especially areas where tourists stay. The Loop and North Michigan Avenue area host thousands of tourists and businessmen each year, and both areas have lower than average violent incidents. In 2010, the Loop reported 50 violent incidents. Hyde Park, home to the University of Chicago, lays on the south side and is safe; concurrent with the expansion of luxury high rises just south of the Loop, that area has a low crime rate. Most of the north side is safe, including areas near popular Lake Michigan beaches, including Wrigleyville, home to the Chicago Cubs, as well as Lincoln Park, Lakeview and Edgewater. The Lincoln Avenue corridor running northwest through the city offers many motels and smaller lodges in safe neighborhoods. Chicago's parks and transportation systems also have low crime rates, as do Chicago hotels near O'Hare and Midway airports.
