Hi, new to this site, but not new to living in foreign countries.

If you had to live in a quite area in the city, where would you live?  Also, what would an apartment cost near the water?  Or a few blocks away?  Is there any place else you would live in the country?

Here in the Philippines, I have two maids that clean and cook, would it be easy to find someone there to do the same things?  How are the people there towards Americans?

Hope you will take the time to answer and send it to my email address.

Thank you.

Joe

Hello Joe.

Welcome to Expat.com :)

A new thread has been created from your message on the Quito Forum for more visibility.

Thanks.

Karen :)

Hello, Joe. I can't help you, since I am currently in the Philippines myself, planning a move to Ecuador soon, but this is a helpful group, so I hope you get your answers.

A few clarifications might help, most importantly -- what city are you looking in?

As for the maids, there was a recent thread here about the legal complications involved in hiring anyone here -- it was enough to discourage me, But again locals could be more help.

Where are you in RP? I'm in Cebu City.
